But old varieties like Blaue Portugieser and Neuburger are also part of the assortment, as well as Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent. This diversity calls for a great deal of commitment to viticulture and the right instincts in wine making to develop very good quality wines. The Rotgipfler was mentioned for the first time around 1837 and is a natural hybrid of\u202fTraminer\u202fand\u202fRoter Veltliner. The Rotgipfler gets its name from the reddish tips of its shoots. The Zierfandler, also known as Sp\u00e4trot, is a hybrid of Traminer-like grapes and Roter Veltliner. Like the Rotgipfler, the Zierfandler is harvested late.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Wines made from Rotgipfler and Zierfandler have very good storage potential. Compared to the Rotgipfler, the Zierfandler has a more delicate taste and is more elegant in good years.
